Of Futility's End and how the Federation grew in the years following the epic war with the Borg Collective, who rampaged across known space for nearly 20 years before mysteriously vanishing from sight. Those who survived were left physically, culturally and morally crushed by the years of war the Federation (Now incorporating former enemies and friends) has been forced to rediscover itself.
It's the people of Futility's End who tell this story, FE isn't bothered with events on a galactic scale its bothered about the people and how they interact with others. Futility's End is made up of millions of these stories which can be played out on a simulation or written solo or collaboratively in a fiction.
Set in the year 2407 the universe is a different state to the one portrayed on the small and big screens. A darker and grittier place the Federation is no longer a nice place to live, instead its become an place where you just survive. Over crowed, noisey and messy Earth itself is a reflection of the Federation at large, it shows people just how far the once mighty have fallen.
In the last 5 years Futility's End has seen a President deposed, the rise of a madman, civil war, the launch of a new battle carrier and the beginings of a sustained re-exploration initiative.
